April 2025 Shipment
Bordeaux Varietal Wines from Renowned Winemaking Regions
We are excited to include two extraordinary wines in your April Vigneron Collection shipment: the 2013 Le Coeur Tannat and 2021 Tenuta di Arceno il Fauno. 2013 Le Coeur is a passion project of Vigneron Pierre Seillan, and the manifestation of his desire to produce an elegant expression of the French variety Tannat in Sonoma County. The 2021 Tenuta di Arceno il Fauno is a blend of international varieties that embodies the diversity of the estate. We hope you enjoy these two wines born from centuries of farming and winemaking knowledge passed down through the generations.
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, 2013
French for ‘the heart,’ Le Coeur is a fitting homage to a grape variety that, like Pierre himself, is native to the rugged Gascon country of southwestern France. This robust and inky wine is produced from 100% Tannat, planted high on the slopes of Alexander Valley in northern Sonoma County. Pierre began cultivating Tannat here after he observed the similarities between this terroir and the foothills of the Pyrenees, where this historic variety flourishes. With Le Coeur, Pierre strives to showcase the elegance, finesse, and complexity that Tannat can express when meticulously farmed and vinified.
Toscana, Italy 2021
The 2021 il Fauno di Arcanum is an elegant wine with a strong backbone. In 2021, warm days and cold nights ushered in a near-perfect harvest in Tuscany. Abetted by clay-enriched soil with good water retention, the grapes ripened to an optimal state. This beautifully layered Bordeaux-style blend, which embodies the estate’s diversity, can be savored for many years to come.

2021 Tenuta di Arceno Il Fauno di Arcanum IGT Toscana
“Cedary oak with plenty of dark chocolate, tapenade, black beans, roasted pepper and blackberries. Recognizable Cabernet characters give this depth and a demureness. Full-bodied on the palate with fine, dusty tannins and a flavorful middle extending to a long, solid finish. Some bitter chocolate at the end. Drinkable now, but better from 2025.”

2013 Le Coeur Tannat
“Illustrating the sable depth of color of which the Tannat variety is capable, the 2013 Le Coeur is a glass-staining powerhouse. The wine is redolent of tiny, thick-skinned wild mountain berry brambles, sun-warmed plums, smoked meat, cocoa powder, and Tahitian vanilla, coalescing into a cohesive symphony of flavors.”
