November 2021

We are thrilled to include two of our international gems in your November Vigneron Collection Shipment: the 2015 Tenuta di Arceno Arcanum Toscana IGT and the 2017 Lassègue Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. While enjoyable anytime of the year, these two selections will pair perfectly with your holiday feasts!

In Tuscany, the 2015 vintage is widely regarded as one of the best vintages in years, perhaps decades. Our Arcanum is the pinnacle of the estate’s offerings. Based on Cabernet Franc, the true signature of the estate, this remarkable wine is built to age yet is drinkable young. With superb exposure and sandy clay soils, the blocks selected for Arcanum shine and produce the finest expression of the variety.

The symbol of Château Lassègue’s iconic sundials, representing perfect sun exposure, encapsulated the message of the 2017 vintage of Lassègue. The major event affecting the 2017 growing was the frost that hit Saint-Émilion and the surrounding Bordeaux wine-growing region at the end of April. The majority of Lassègue’s vineyards were largely spared, which lie on the south-facing slopes that benefit from favorable sun exposure. Summer was quite dry but without excessive heat, with several rain showers in September that resulted in a gentle end to ripening. Harvest took place in excellent conditions between September 20 and October 5.
